Sharpening a Classic: Nike Air Max 95 ‘Pencil Point’

Sergio Lozano’s has been through more twists than a VHS rental, but Nike’s latest ‘Pencil Point’ edition proves that the anatomical OG still has plenty of ink left in the pen. This Air Max 95 slices straight through the clutter with a colourway that’s both heritage homage and fresh sketch.

The familiar grey gradient is back in play, stacked like text lines from the ‘Neon’ playbook. But instead of sticking to the script, Nike drops in flashes of ‘Sapphire’ across the eyelets, tongue badge, and even the Swoosh trim – think of it as the teacher’s blue biro scoring your homework with big ticks (or corrections, for yours truly). Underfoot, the Air bubbles glow the same shade, set inside a midsole splashed in ‘Dark Raisin’ that looks like it’s been dipped in grape juice.

Elsewhere, the ‘Pencil Point’ name gets some cheeky support from tones dubbed ‘Purple Dynasty’ – though where they sneak onto the build is anyone’s guess. Maybe you’ll only spot them when you’re really staring at your shoes under the desk.

Nike haven’t circled a date on the calendar just yet, but retail is pegged at $190. With the AM95’s back catalogue already absolutely stacked, this one still manages to feel sharp enough to get a look-in. Keep your eyes on the release boards – when the ‘Pencil Point’ finally lands, we’ll make sure to keep you posted.
