This Nike Air Max 95 Borrows Some OG Steez

Update April 12, 2022: After releasing in global regions earlier this year, this Air Max 95 is finally hitting Nike SNKRS in the US on April 14.
With all this recent talk of doing the rounds, the holds its own during its ‘off-season’. It’s doing this by releasing more colourways that tap into the model’s famous ‘greydient’ panelling as found on its OG releases. This new drop does just that, tweaking the original recipe ever so slightly to provide a fresh finish.
Instead of an all-microfibre build, this AM95 instead uses a more upscale mix of leather, synthetic and suede across the upper’s layered sides to again recreate the multiple shades of grey. A stark white toe cap contrasts nicely, leading into both a matching midsole and blank eye stays to frame the design. Up here, the palette is darkest with charcoal grey and black in the mix, but vibrant strips of blue light up the lace loops, tongue logo and lateral heel Swoosh. It’s almost reminiscent of the JD-exclusives from back in the day. Some finishing touches include reflective heel tabs and tongue strips per the OG, and some additional blue ribbing on the outsole flex zones.
