Expect the Nike Air Max 95 ‘Comet’ to Return

The revelry around the in 2025 is bringing the sneakersphere serious joy! The Air-injected legend is being celebrated hard this year as it’s the model’s 30th birthday – and just like any good party, there are plenty of surprises to be excited about.

From the making its comeback to a plethora of OG returns and a handful of colabs, have also completely retooled the AM95's upper and midsole to sit more closely alongside its 1995 predecessor. They’ve used this new build to help resurrect plenty of IYKYK colourways like the – but it turns out the festivities won't be confined to this year. Following previous news that we can expect the in 2026, fresh word says we'll also get the return of the ‘Comet’.

The Nike Air Max 95 ‘Comet’ is another one of those 90s colourways that can fly under the radar, but it's cherished among those in the cult of Air. Its construction is simple yet effective, and inverts the 'Neon' black-to-grey gradient. The midsole is white, with eye-catching pops of red throughout.

This won’t be the first time the ‘Comet’ has returned to shelves, though is hasn't been seen in OG form since 2010. Following a release in 1996, the ‘Comet’ flew by again in 2003, and was later spied at the dawn of the next decade too, as part of the AM95’s 15th birthday celebrations. There have also been a few special editions such as an all-leather pair from 1998, and in 2021 Nike dropped a Japanese cherry blossom-inspired variant.

Rumours of the Nike Air Max 95 ‘Comet’ returning next year come from @bubblekoppe, who’s a reliable source for all things Air Max. A current release date or confirmation from Nike is currently out of reach at this point, but we’re expecting a drop as part of the brand’s summer catalogue.
