Stay True With the Nike Air Max 1 ‘University Blue’ at JD Sports

The perennial Air Max 1 has dominated headlines throughout 2023, with Nike dropping a wide array of epic colourways back to back. From the ‘Big Bubble’ resurrection to multiple swish GR combos, the AM1 doesn’t seem to be slowing down for the remainder of the year. It seems this will keep going next year, with gargantuan rumours of some big collaborative iterations said to return. Before all that though, JD Sports have prepared to release one of the crispiest colourways of the year dubbed ‘University Blue’.

Exuding somewhat of an OG ‘Royal Blue’ feel with 1987-style colour-blocking, the namesake tone dominates the upper, brushing along the mudguards, Swoosh and various branding accents. Elsewhere, similar to its older sibling, the rest of the palette remains muted, dressed in grey and white. Built as any Air Max 1 should, the base layer has been laid down in crisp mesh while the rest opts for a plush suede.
