UPDATE: If the studio shots below didn't have you sold on Nike's new Air Max 1 Royal SE SP, then these on-foot pics will have you chanting, 'Take my money!' Both colourways can be seen up close and personal – giving you a solid idea of just how good these will look on your feet. Soak up all the imagery and head over to Titolo to cop on June 20.
Last year, Nike introduced the 'Royal' variation of the Air Max 1 as a sophisticated spin on the retro runner. Changes to Tinker Hatfield's original 1987 design included welded construction, shortened midsole and an overall reduction internal padding, resulting in a highly streamlined silhouette. In an unusual twist, Nike are taking the AM1 Royal back to its roots with the introduction of a new SE SP incarnation.
Returning to its sportswear origins, the SE SP brings mesh back to the mix, with synthetic heat-welded overlays replicating the AM1's iconic panelling. For its debut, Nike are throwing it back with a release in OG red, white and grey. They will also release a black and white make-up with split top and bottom colour separation – not unlike 2015's highly sought-after 'The 6' AM1.
No word on a release date for the Nike Air Max 1 Royal SE SP at this point, but you can count on us for offical updates.
