Be Gotham's GOAT in the Nike Air Max 1 'Batman'

Black yellow and grey 'Batman' Nike sneakers on yellow background

Over 250 species of bumblebee can't be wrong – yellow and black are definitely a top-shelf colour combination. Nike are aware, and they've played with the 'Batman' palette plenty of times (most recently of OG Big Bubble Air Max 95s, which included a model). In terms of the colour scheme's most devoted vigilante, Nike even have a historical finger in the 'official collaboration' pie: the Swoosh's Tinker Hatfield . Now it's the Air Max 1's turn to come out of the shadows.

'Too soon,' you might be thinking – we did see another unofficial 'Batman' Air Max 1 in the third quarter of 2024. However this fresh model presents a totally different feel to its predecessor.

The 2024 Air Max 1 'Batman' featured an upper almost completely blacked-out across its leather and mesh, with canary-yellow biffs to the Swoosh, tongue logo and outsole tip. It was your 1997 Batman: slick, brash, probably ready with an inappropriate pun. By contrast, this year's version shows the caped crusader's more earnest side – muscular and courageous, yes, but also into toasting his spices. While the base mesh stays black, the overlays come in a thoughtful wolf-grey tone alongside muted yellow (compared to last year's next-to-neon), which also hits the heel and tongue branding. The midsole and outsole appear as pure black, but flip the model over and you'll see subtle white static across the grip.

The Nike Air Max 1 'Batman' is likely to release in Fall 2025, with a price point of $145. Keep it locked for all updates!
