Nike Air Huarache Ultra
Today, Nike has introduced their latest reimagining of the iconic Air Huarache in the form of the Air Huarache Ultra. The newest iteration of the 1991 runner keeps in theme with the original minimalist design, expanding on the design philosophy with contemporary updates that is definitely more palatable for sneakerheads than most of Nike's previous attempts at 'updating' our favourite models. The most recognisable parts of the beloved Air Huarache carry on to the Ultra — the bootie, heel strap, exoskeleton and tongue patch remain — but its the rest of the upper is improved upon with a new moulded construction and that incorporates Flywire technology. The iconic dotted texture on the midsole heel now covers the entire unit, and the outsole is cored-out in-line with Nike's current fascination with light and flexible sole units, all the while keeping the Air unit still intact. It's an unescapable fact that most of our favourite shoes from the '90s will continued to be rehashed, and we're just happy that the Air Huarache Ultra stays true to the original design without ruining what we love about it. We can't say this for most of Nike's roster of reinvented silhouettes, but when the Ultra hits stores on the 26th of December we'll be picking up a few pairs ourselves!
