The Nike Air Huarache ‘Slate’ Arrives Next Week

Nike has executed the return of the Air Huarache with precision, slightly reworking the design for the ‘Scream Green’ earlier this year, so good it pleased one of Sneaker Freaker’s harshest crep critics. We’ve also seen other OGs return, such as the ‘Praline’ and ‘Escape’ alongside the collaborative Stussy reissue. As the 30th anniversary celebrations continue, the next to hit shelves is the ’Shadow’ that reminds us of the ‘Slate’ from 1992, albeit a few changes to the colour.

Plenty of original ‘Slate’ details are in place, like the deep blue bootie with matching Huarache tongue badge and blacked-out midsole and straps. However, instead of the rich colour seen engulfing the upper of the original, the ‘Shadow’ sees a pale grey shade offering a refreshing take on the 90s colourway.

While the Nike Air Huarache ‘Shadow’ isn’t the exact ‘Slate’ retro many of you were hoping for, it’s still a welcomed addition to any Huarache collection. Following the release of official images last week, it’s now been loaded onto SNKRS with the release date locked in for December 16.
