Simple colourways done well can be hard to find, but we’ll hold up this Mid 07 as an example of just how good pared-back can look.
Starting with the iconic all-white Uptown, Nike have merely coloured bits of branding in ruby red and left the rest alone. It can be hard to resist overworking things, so this AF1 can be taken as a lesson in restraint. As far as the build goes, an all-leather upper and sturdy rubber sole will stay strong even with ongoing use and abuse, while the ankle strap will allow you to fasten tight when the going gets tough.
