The Nike Air Force 1 Low 'Invisible Woman' Returns for Round 2

The use of transparent leather has always been a head-turner – a bold choice that blurs the line between visibility and mystery. It first gained traction with models like the ESPO x , which revealed glimpses of colour beneath clear panels, and later with the , incorporating translucent materials for a utilitarian look.

Of course, perhaps the most infamous clear-toed model was the Swoosh's from 2007. Taking its name from very own Invisible Woman, the titular model did anything but disappear when it dropped – it turned heads faster than a mid-battle supernova. Built using clear PVC overlays and smooth ivory leather, the pair played with visibility in all the right ways and opened the door for a few more daring – if debatable – design choices afterwards.

Nike are all set to revisit the classic, having hinted at dropping a new version of their Air Force 1 that feels strikingly familiar. Arriving in ‘University Blue’ and ‘Pure Platinum,’ this frosty flex embraces the translucent trend with icy blue panels slicing through crisp white leather. Peek-through sections appear throughout, giving the AF-1 a cool, chilled twist without going overboard.

Of course, the silhouette's use of tonal branding keeps things clean, while a metallic dubrae adds just the right amount of shine. Down below, the classic white midsole stays untouched, balanced out by a blue-tinted outsole which mirrors the upper’s frosted finish.

The translucent-toed Nike Air Force 1 Low is expected to drop via Nike and select retailers later this year. Be sure to stay tuned to Sneaker Freaker for all the latest.
