Another Nike Air Flight Lite II Emerges
The is enjoying some time in the retro spotlight in 2022, a year that marks the model’s 30th anniversary, and coincidentally (though very likely deliberately planned) the first time it’s ever been retroed. As releases pick up steam, here’s a new colourway out now that looks like it could have very well dropped back in 1992.
Like the white and black, this edition adopts a similar white leather build for the majority of its upper. As a shoe in the Flight series, low weight is prioritised by using less padding and a slightly lower cut. There is also a generous amount of perforations found throughout the upper, which also aids in ventilation. Bright hits of ‘University Red’ cover the entirety of the tongue, contrasting Swoosh branding and outsole, plus the speckled lining is a mixture of white and red, replicating the type used in the OG. Given the shoe’s association to Scottie Pippen, it’s no surprise that this Bulls-ish colourway is also finished with a Pippen logo on the insoles – a nice touch to those who grew up watching basketball in the 1990s.
