Earlier this year, WNBA star Elena Delle Donne announced she would be debuting her very own signature sneaker. Known as the Nike Air Deldon, the model has, above all, been designed as an inclusive sneaker. EDD has always been an avid advocate of inclusivity, constantly showing support for LGBTQIA+ communities and people with disability, which has also been reflected in her Nike collaboration.

Just released is a duo of colourways that are bold not only in their palettes but in their storytelling, too. First up is the Air Deldon ‘Lyme’, which shines a light on the future Hall-of-Famer’s battle with Lyme disease. As such, the lime-green accents on the design reflect her drive to keep fighting when you feel like you’ve got no fuel left in the tank. This pair also features Nike’s Air Strobel unit underfoot alongside a FlyEase upper, which gives the design a collapsible heel and an upper that opens wide for easy entry.

The second pair in the drop is a ‘Be True’ iteration. With this design, EDD wanted to represent the joy and importance of being uniquely yourself. The ‘Be True’ also celebrates LGBTQIA+ communities with rainbow-specked laces and blue and orange accents that nod to EDD and her spouse Amanda Clifton’s favourite colours.

The ‘Be True’ edition has now sold out, but hit the link below to cop the ‘Lyme’!
