Nice Kicks and Amoeba Music Tune Up the New Balance 992
Austin, TX sneaker retailer have performing a duet with popular independent music store Amoeba Music on two editions of the . This all-American collaboration celebrates Amoeba’s new Hollywood store location, which is opening in April.
The first colourway starts off with familiar shades of NB grey suede alternating between the mid panel and mudguard, until a sunny yellow hit rises on the mesh toe box and suede overlays. Some of this yellow beams its way to the rear quarter, but some additional contrast comes via the mint green laces. The usual heel tab text is swapped for a reflective panel that reads ‘Peace’.
Meanwhile, the other colourway is a dark flip in predominately black suede through the middle section, but it’s offset by plenty of fresh mint accents on the toe box. The somewhat incongruous inclusion of bright red laces somehow works, and adds an extra pop of colour. However, closer inspection of Amoeba Music’s squishy star logo explains the red. The rear heel also reads ‘Peace’, but in red.
The Nice Kicks x Amoeba Music x New Balance 992 will release on April 2 from the Nice Kicks webstore. There will also be co-branded apparel releasing alongside the shoes.
