New kid on the shoe block, Obra, have released a fresh range of silhouettes boasting comfort, style and a social conscience. The brainchild of two shoe industry veterans, Arnaud Delecolle and Dave Cory, Obra have delivered a high top, low top and slip-on in their range, with each model coming with a choice of colourways.
In Portuguese, the word ‘Obra’ has a dual meaning: construction and a work of art. That definition seems to have been a guiding principle for the new range, as stylish designs merge with lightweight footbeds and thick rubber wraps around the midsole area for durability.
Meanwhile, the social conscience comes in the form of responsible manufacturing and a promise to donate $10 from every sale on their website to Red Hook Labs — an organisation establishing arts education in public schools and community centres.
