New Balance have unveiled their latest hardwood hero: the BB9000. The futuristic sounding model has emerged in two debut colourways, each providing a neat fusion between retro aesthetics and modern design. Described by NB as being ‘made for life between shootarounds’, the BB9000 features a FuelCell midsole below a leather and nubuck upper, and above a translucent outsole.
This latest model is another step in New Balance’s strong return to the basketball scene. Over the last year or so, NB have made some big moves on the hardwood, including the initial launch of the OMN1S, the arrival of the KAWHI, and the recent emergence of the TWO WXY. Plus there’s been the key signings of Dejounte Murray, Darius Bazley and, of course, Kawhi Leonard. While we’re at it, don’t forget the current revival of the retro NB 550 silhouette, a hidden gem from NB’s on-court archive that is now getting some serious attention with hot GR and collaborative releases.
