New Balance Unleashes the Beast with the Made in USA 997 'Bison' Pack Release: 15 March 2019
It’s well-known that ‘Made in USA’ represents the zenith of New Balance manufacturing, and these super-clean 997 renditions come with the customary craftsmanship we’ve come to know and love. Originally released in 1991, the 997 is regarded as Steven Smith’s magnum opus — a glorious conclusion to his time with the Boston brand.
Fast forward 30 years: the crisp midsole with ENCAP and C-CAP cushioning remains the cornerstone of the 997’s design. However, look above and you’ll find a level of luxe rarely seen among New Balance’s extensive catalogue. Staying true to the authenticity and heritage of the Made in USA lineup, the ‘Bison’ pack elevates the 997 with the addition of tonal American Bison leather on the upper for a softer, yet more durable, ride than ever before.
The premium provisions don’t stop there — lush leather lining combines with eye-catching reflective details on the vamp overlay, collar underlay, and ‘N’ logo underlay to further spice up these minimal marvels.
Dropping in black, navy and white colourways, the New Balance 997 ‘Bison’ pack releases at all good NB retailers on March 15. It doesn’t get much classier than this!
