Originally used across the brand's early trail models due to its ability to stay fresh even when dirtied up, the choice of grey went against the conventional grain by foregoing the blinding sneaker shades popular in the 80s. Since then, NB have made the neutral tone their own and now, in its second year, ‘Grey Day’ is celebration of their adoration for the trademark hue.
To celebrate the occasion, New Balance has unveiled two distinctive ‘Made in USA’ remixes of the iconic 997, including the game-changing MADE 997S.

Perhaps the ultimate encapsulation of New Balance’s performance-to-lifestyle pursuit, the 997S is a modern-day reimagining of the classic 997. A stripped-down hybrid version of the time-tested icon, the addition of ENCAP Reveal and ABZORB makes it one of NB’s cushiest creps ever. As with all Made in USA offerings, the premium provisions are all present including pig suede, pebbled leather and high quality mesh. And unlike the MADE 997 in the same pack, at least this one has its classic 'N' logo intact!
