New Balance Get in the Halloween Spirit with Spooky 1500 and 577 StylesRelease: 8 December 2021
As this article is being penned (or, technically, typed), Halloween is only a few days away. However, it's never too late to get into the holiday spirit – and New Balance have done just that with Halloween-themed takes on the classic 1500 and 577.
Both are high-performance running shoes that debuted in 1989 – the 1500 was even designed by the legendary Steven Smith! – and here each takes on an appealingly autumnal palette that mixes various shades of brown, tan and black with a pumpkin spice-like orange hue. The 577 is constructed entirely of mesh and suede while the 1500 brings premium leathers both smooth and pebbled into the mix as well. Each upper sits atop a pillowy ENCAP midsole, and a final connecting thread is supplied by the country of origin: both were made in England at New Balance's famed Flimby factory.
If you're looking to (pumpkin) spice up your sneaker rotation, each pair is available now at Aphrodite. The 1500 retails at £189 while the 577 slides in £10 cheaper at £179.
