Sneakerheads have been very receptive to the New Balance RC_1300 ever since its launch at the beginning of the year, thanks to its sharp shape expertly paired to a futuristic sole. NB have rendered it in both classic solid colour-blocking and more experimental mixes with much aplomb, even throwing a collaboration into the mix. The latest addition is a simple yet effective example, opting for a proven two-toned mix of navy and white.

The RC_1300 uses the signature 1300 upper, which is presented here in nappy suede and fine mesh, using navy and white respectively. This stark colour contrast is accentuated with key accents like a reflective heel tab and midfoot backing, keeping to the model’s original configuration.

Underfoot is an ENCAP REVEAL midsole. This midsole is a contemporary reworking of the ENCAP cushioning tech first pioneered by NB’s mid-80s runners like the 1300, 574 and 577. Sandwiched underneath is another NB compound called ABZORB which, as the name suggests, provides plenty of shock absorption against the rigours of street flexing. Additionally, this sole is paired with a proprietary tread pattern made from Vibram rubber, providing optimal grip.

This latest colourway, codenamed MS1300TC, is out now from boutiques like BAIT and Oneness.
