Tennis star and New Balance athlete Coco Gauff has dropped a handful of colourways of her signature sneaker, the New Balance Coco CG1, since its debut in August 2022. Now the sneaker gets a loud tonal colourway inspired by the tennis ball itself.

Dubbed the ‘Fuzzy Ace’ colourway, the sneaker comes in a tonal look in Hi-Lite yellow. FitWeave mesh and hairy suede are used on the base and overlays of the sneaker with light grey accenting throughout, similar to a tennis ball’s seams. Lockdown is an emphasis on the Coco CG1, using an outrigger lacing setup in the midfoot along with an independent elastic band. The New Balance N wraps around the heel with Coco’s name in script on the tongue. A tennis ball graphic is stamped on the medial heel with more seams seen on the toebox.

Going down to the midsole, two different FuelCell densities are used for cushioning that features a carbon fibre shank plate that acts as a springboard called Energy Arc. The translucent outsole features a horizontal and diagonal tread pattern designed for durability while providing dime-stopping traction.

The New Balance COCO CG1 ‘Fuzzy Ace’ is set to drop on March 31, 2023, via New Balance channels and at select retailers for $170.
