New Balance's 'Hazelnut' Allerdale Is Sure to Get a Latte Love

While models like and have dominated much of the conversation this year, the Boston brand’s Allerdale has quietly been carving out its own reputation as one of 2025’s most intriguing releases. On paper, it might look like a simple shoe – and at $250, it’s not exactly impulse territory – but with muted colourways and a already in its catalogue, the once-dubbed 'grandad shoe' is slowly but surely proving itself as a certified mainstay.

The latest release, titled ‘Hazelnut,’ follows suit. Inspired by the UK's , the Allerdale feels just as at home on a quiet backwoods stroll as it does paired with a cup of humble British tea.

Moving away from previous iterations, this version of the Allerdale features a tumbled leather upper – a detail since the model first appeared in March – in muted, earthy tones. Hiking cues are also on display throughout, from the translucent lugged sole to the D-ring laces, each adding a little twist on the overall ‘Hazelnut’ palette.
