New Balance Reveal a Fresh Model: the ABZORB 2000

recent run of success has been well-documented and deservedly so. The Boston-based brand capitalised on the dad shoe wave by delivering stylish comfort and expert craftsmanship. Their strategy primarily revolves around reviving a model from the past for today’s consumer. Bringing a different model to market year after year is hard, but they did it repeatedly with every sneaker becoming an instant hit. However, this time they’re back with a completely new model: meet the fresh New Balance ABZORB 2000.
Although debuted by Gustavo Soares, a Sao Paolo-based stylist, New Balance have not officially announced the sneaker. This new silhouette is not to be confused with the New Balance 2000 of the early 2010s, although it does seem to keep some of the OG's DNA in the upper, with a slim modern design that is in keeping with the popular mesh runner look. The midsole is the headliner though, coming with five of New Balance’s signature ABZORB cushioning pods, and the medial side also reveals a midfoot shank.
No release details have surfaced yet, but the New Balance ABZORB 2000 is expected in mid-2025. Stay tuned for the latest.
