Update March 27, 2023: A wider release has arrived for the women’s New Balance 991 ‘Iced Blue’! Check out the stockists carrying pairs below.

The New Balance 991 continues to make plenty of noise in 2023. Recently visited by Teddy Santis’ Aimé Leon Dore and Montreal’s JJJJound, the 2001 silhouette has also received multiple inline renditions, the latest ‘Iced Blue’ colourway arriving via New Balance’s official website.

Conceived under Teddy Santis’ Made in UK banner, the ‘Iced Blue’ model borrows a similar aesthetic composition to the dusty pink colourway (revealed last week). Adopting a steel-grey mesh base layer, the colourway enforces its titular ‘Ice Blue’ palette across the suede-treated uppers. Again utilising New Balance’s signature ENCAP technology, the 991 is manufactured at the brand’s factory in Flimby, Cumbria. Also packing a full-length ABZORB cushioning system, the 991 was a linchpin of NB’s early 2000s catalogue. Of course, the silhouette benefited greatly from the recent dad-shoe come-up that’s been informing chunky sneakers for years.

The New Balance 991 ‘Iced Blue’ is available right now from the Boston label’s official website.
