Back In Stock: New Balance 990 in Grey
The is getting some time in the sun lately thanks to limited editions like the , but its strongest colourway has always been its OG grey. There’s objectively no point making an original option limited edition, so NB have done well to restock it once more. In their own words, ‘simply put, the 990 is the shoe so good, that we’ve never stopped making it.’
With little discerning this version from the 1982 progenitor, the brand maintains their reputation for producing accurate retros. The quality suede and mesh combo returns in all of its Made In USA glory, and, of course, it’s the perfect shade of grey. Other components are also period correct, from the crisp white MCD (Motion Control Device) on the heels to the rubber soles, plus the dab of reflective material on the heel counter. All is sat on a chamfered dual density foam midsole for that old-school cushioning feel.
