A long-forgotten sneaker gathering dust for many years, the New Balance 550 was one of the unexpected success stories in 2020. Resurrected by Teddy Santis and his coveted crew at Aimé Leon Dore, the vintage basketball sneaker originally hit the hardwood in 1989. Now, after several high-end ALD collaborations and a mountain of in-line releases, the 550 continues to remain popular throughout the market, with a quartet of new colourways arriving via the New Balance website.

Launching in April, the four colourways offer a combination of vibrant, Spring-inspired silhouettes alongside more malleable, monochromatic renditions incorporating grey and cream hues. Manufactured in a modern mix of durable synthetic nubuck uppers and rubber outsoles for traction, the low-top construction features iconic ‘N’ logos on the sides and perforated details on the toe box and side panels.

Look for all four New Balance 550s colourways to arrive on April 6 at New Balance and select retailers.
