The New Balance 2002R Mule Has Arrived!
A cult-favourite for NB-heads the world over, the continues to arrive in a slew of colourways in 2022. A throwback to 2000s runners, the retro-futurist design exhumes a niche silhouette from 2010, a model that was famously over budgeted and under appreciated.
But the 2002R has finally found a home thanks to some superlative collaborations and GR releases, the latest overhaul involving a mule remix.
Manufactured with mesh and suede, the mule variation incorporates all the signature tech elements of its progenitor, including the ABZORB midsole, Stability Web and Nergy outsoles. Lopping off the heels of the 2002R, the variation is somewhat of an antithetical to the original aims of the 2002R (that prioritised optimum running performance), but given the silhouette’s success in the broader lifestyle category, we’re not surprised. We’ve still got all the bells and whistles in the engine, so there’ll be no excusing making good time on a dart to the shops! (Although they might very well slip off at the heel!)
