Earlier this month, samples of an unreleased 1906R design surfaced via @addctdgram, and New Balance footwear designer Yue Wu has recently revealed he is the brains behind this ‘Polka Dot’ iteration of the silhouette. Known for conceptualising the 2002R ‘Protection Pack’ and cow print-inspired 610, Wu's command of complementary colours and depth-generating texture has led to a signature style that is both simplistic and distinctive.

Wu’s caption reads: ‘This is one of my personal favourites that I’ve worked on for 2024. Shout out to the team that made this happen’. While no release details have been confirmed yet by the brand, these might drop sometime later this year to the general public.

The classic model arrives in two variations. The first features a white mesh upper covered in black spots. Completing the kicks are the cream overlays, midsole, and laces. Meanwhile, the second pair sports a black mesh upper complemented with white spots. More black is seen on the overlays, midsole, and lacing system.
