While the qualifications and traits required to become an astronaut are extremely stringent, perhaps wearing the same sneakers as them is the next best thing. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, aka NASA, has entered the cosmic ballet with adidas to produce two intergalactic colourways of the space-age UltraBOOST. This colab complements the Ultra4D effort that recently released.

One colourway heavily features tonal blue Primeknit uppers matching up to the uniforms of the NASA crew, contrasted by a very metallic silver BOOST midsole, which is rarely seen on the UB. It is finished with matching grey external heel counters, while the usual adidas tongue label has been switched out for a large patch bearing NASA’s Artemis program symbol.

The other edition falls on the reliable grey and white combo, the former colour coating the entire upper. But it’s not just a flat colour here as the Primeknit pattern adds tonal depth across the toe box, tongue, and ankle collar with different weaves. A metallic heel counter adds eye candy, and the Artemis logo again shows up on the tongue.

Both colourways of the NASA x adidas UltraBOOST release on adidas’ webstore and selected retailers on December 6. They’re outta this world.
