Mountain Research Put 'Pure Grey' on their Reebok DMX Trail Shadow Sequel ColabRelease: 15 October 2020
Japanese brand Mountain Research have been pretty busy on the collaborative front lately, especially with Reebok, and now they have a new team-up that’s dropping soon. After their recent Classic Leather effort, they revisit the DMX Trail Shadow that they reworked earlier this year. And this time they’ve gone for cozy shades of all-grey.
This tonal execution, believe or not, is tied to the grey marl jersey material commonly used on sweatsuits and varsity jackets. However, Mountain Research don’t specify this soft textile for the DMX Trail Shadow, instead, they use soft brushed nubuck in a similar fashion to their previous sandy yellow edition. Accompanying details such as custom tongue branding, perforated Vector branding, woven midfoot overlays, and ‘Holiday In The Mountain’ heel text make this Mountain Research’s own.
Elsewhere, the DMX Trail Shadow retains all of its usual hallmarks that have made it an exciting contemporary Reebok model. Its namesake DMX tech is used throughout the midsole, particularly the DMX Shear unit in the heel, paired to a slightly flared outsole that bears some trail-running influences.
The cozy colab between Mountain Research and Reebok releases on October 8 via Mountain Research, but a global release through Reebok stockists follows on October 15. However, a bit of Internet sleuthing will find you some retailers who have already released them (hit the Buy button below to peep).
