Patta’s Mephisto Rainbow Collaboration Releases Today
Amsterdam collective have an excellent eye for collaboration and quality – two aspects merged into one on the Rainbow. The fifth effort in their ongoing partnership, the latest duo leans on straightforward, clean tonal colours and upper-class materials to exemplify the Rainbow’s best bits.
Mephisto is a French footwear company who have been quietly making excellent product since 1965. While the traditional offering typically takes a wide berth of typical sneakerhead sensibilities, the Rainbow model in particular has become something of a cult favourite in these circles, especially among the European set. It’s easy to see why: full leather construction, sturdy stitching and durable hardware. The SOFT-AIR and AIR-RELAX (no, not that Air) soles contribute to reportedly some of the most comfortable shoes out there.
For Patta’s latest effort, they’ve gone the all-white and all-red route on the Rainbow, marrying the uppers to dark gum brown midsoles for a winning combination. The brand’s effort does not go unnoticed, for they place their own grosgrain tab next to Mephisto’s on the lateral side.
The Patta x Mephisto Rainbow will release via Patta’s web store on April 14, followed by an in-store drop at their Amsterdam, London and Milan doors on April 18.
