of and Givenchy fame has been hard at work developing his take on the enduring Clogcore trend through a futuristic lens. The resulting – made possible by his ongoing partnership with – looks to be one of the wildest designs to emerge from this evolving footwear genre yet.
Unlike the flowing and organic shapes explored by other brands’ clogs, MMW opts for more sculpted and angular surfaces, as evidenced by the flat edges and chamfered joints. The Zoom 005 Slide does maintain the trypophobia-inducing status quo of these slide-on designs by riddling the upper and sides with fine holes. These perforations may cause mental discomfort for some, but they likely feel a lot better than they look on foot. Besides, the tonal beige and black colourways will hide these dots.
The Nike Zoom 005 Slide is currently scheduled to release on September 9 exclusively from the ALYX website, but there’s a good chance there’ll be a wider drop at boutique retailers in the coming months.
