The Masters of the Universe and PUMA Combine Powers
The Masters of the Universe have teamed up with to create a new collaborative collection celebrating the latest addition to the former’s multimedia franchise, titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Consisting of the classic and styles, each colourway and packaging is credited to the creative direction of the series’ showrunner and executive producer, Kevin Smith.
The Clydes are dressed – or in this case, undressed – in skin-coloured leather to reflect the scantily-clad and buff physique of protagonist He-Man, which is further identified by his silhouette printed on the sides. The eyestays, tongues and laces are coloured to match the Battle Cat that He-Man rides into adventures with.
Meanwhile, Skeletor selects the Suede for a darker and more dastardly look. Like his antithesis, the villain doesn’t wear much beyond a codpiece and medieval bondage, but he does cover up with a dark cape. This is represented by the black suede upper, which then provides the base for printed hooded skeletal faces. Purple laces and Formstripes complete the look.
‘I’m not fit to walk a mile in He-Man’s shoes - but thanks to the good folks at PUMA, now I can!’ said Smith. ‘So I’ll be rocking those, as well as my Skeletor sneakers, until the end of the Universe!’
The Masters of the Universe: Revelation x PUMA pack will be available exclusively at Foot Locker from November 30.
