The Mark Gonzales x adidas Superstar 'Shmoo' Is Back (In Black)
Happy-go-lucky but fiercely creative, is a singular figure in the world of skateboarding. Of course, he's an accomplished artist too, and his signature 'Shmoo' characters are back for another star turn on .
Gonz and released their second Superstar – or 'Shmooperstar,' if you'd prefer – collaboration back in April 2020 after a in March 2015, and for the third go-around they've opted for a much different colour palette than the previous offerings. Gonz's smiling winged 'Shmoo' characters fly across both the lateral and medial sides of the upper, popping off their black leather base thanks to richly coloured blue, yellow, purple, green and pink trim.
There's also a little nod to the to be seen as well, as the quarter's standard Three Stripes graphic is swapped out for minimalistic perforations. Slender leather tongues and leather collar linings add an air of luxury, while the Superstar's signature rubber toe provides flair and skate-ready durability. This black Superstar is one of dozens of styles Gonzales has created with adidas Skateboarding over the course of their decades-long partnership, the most recent of which were the above-mentioned second Superstar, and four styles of the skate shoe.
Expect Gonz's latest adidas collaboration to release via the brand's webstore come October 9. It's priced at $100.
