Manchester United and adidas Reveal New Collaboration

2018 marks the 140th anniversary of the Newton Heath LYR Football Club, which would go on to become one of the world's footballing giants: Manchester United. To commemorate the club's humble beginning, the Red Devils and have come together to produce a special piece of footwear.

Simply dubbed the 'Newton Heath', the kicks take cues from the club's heritage and origins as the football club for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Carriage and Wagon department. The soccer-inspired low-top takes cues from the club's original green and gold kits, and pairs a green suede upper with gold branding and black hits to the leather lining, matching heel tab, and rubber outsole. Inside, the shoe even features a map of the squad's North Road stadium, while 'EST 1878' text is debossed into the heel of each shoe.

Finished with the Red Devil on the right heel tab, the Newton Heath is set to drop at 's Manchester location this Friday, December 7.
