Malbon Golf and New Balance Tee Up Two More 997 Colourways
Malbon Golf is equal parts irreverent and respectful of the game it crafts apparel for – the brand thumbs its nose at stodgy country club conventions, but also has a deep respect for golf and aims to bring it to the masses by painting it in a modern, more free-flowing light. Part of this initiative is footwear collaboration, and after linking with for a on the back in August, the Malbon crew is back with two more course-ready styles of the classic runner.
Dubbed the 997G, these latest styles feature white or grey uppers with waterproof leather. These uppers are accented by thick white trim and classic gum soles made of NDurance rubber – which sit below REVlite midsoles and Cush+ insoles. The outsoles also hold removable Fast Twist 3.0 Pulsar cleats for maximum on-course traction. Branded flair is largely kept to a minimum (this is golf, not basketball, after all) but there are Malbon script hits on the tongue and heel, plus an N logo on the midfoot.
Only 200 pairs of each colourway were produced, and they'll release via the Malbon Golf webstore November 18, accompanied by a special towel. An even smaller run of pairs are available via StockX now, towel included as well.
