Pre-distressed sneakers are certainly enjoying a moment in the sun right now. Headlined by the hype-inducing Air Jordan 1 ‘Lost and Found’ (aka Chicago), the faux-aged phenomenon is now being utilised by Maison Margiela and Reebok, the latest TZ Pump looking all kinds of scuffed up.

Inspired by a three-dimensional scan of the original Omni Zone II, the sneaker was first popularised in 1990 thanks largely to legendary hooper Dominique Wilkins. Continuing Maison Margiela’s trend of deconstruction, the latest model imitates the chemical breakdown of PU polymer that occurs over the course of a sneaker’s lifetime.

Introduced in three colourways, the Maison Margiela x Reebok TZ Pump styles will arrive on November 18. The retail price is $1150 and will appear on Maison Margiela's webstore.
