Louis Vuitton Unveils Their Next ‘White Canvas: LV Trainer in Residence’ Project
have become known for their epic array of sneakers ever since the tenure of the late great creative director . The LV Trainers has historically been the heaviest hitter in the Vuitton arsenal, and they’re now continuing their ‘White Canvas: LV Trainer in Residence’ program. This time they’re enlisting Chinese artists Wen Na and Zhou Yilan, for a multi-shoe collection that’s landing this September.
Yilan has crafted a duo of LV Trainers, presenting each in purposefully unfinished painted states. Each of the pairs have been handcrafted by LV, and hand-painted by Yilan, who has dubbed his creations ’42.5°C (orange and black) and -8.6°C (pink and blue)’, taking inspiration from climate change. Na has also crafted two LV Trainers, one named ‘Wave’ and another ‘Cloud’, looking to the natural phenomenon of both to craft vivid depictions on each pair. Once again, these pairs have been crafted by hand at Louis Vuitton’s Fiesso d’Artico atelier.
Following its debut in 2023, the Louis Vuitton ‘White Canvas’ project will debut on September 23 at select LV stores in a China. A Parisian release will go down on December 1.
