Liverpool Set to Score Another Air Max 95 in 2025
All good designs were controversial at the time, both internally and externally, and the is no exception. Designed by Sergio Lozano in 1995, the AM95 was inspired by layers of soil eroded by rain and also human anatomy. It was the first to feature visible Air in the forefoot, and this combined with its unconventional design meant it met resistance: some loved it and some hated it. Nearly 30 years later, and the design is well and truly embedded into sneaker lore, having been a constant on shelves the entire time. Industry sources have now told Complex to expect a limited-edition iteration for Liverpool to land some time in mid-2025.
While there’s no leaked images or official word, it’s expected that the AM95 will be linked to Liverpool FC. While the Air Max 95 is a staple sneaker silhouette across the whole United Kingdom, it is especially prevalent in Liverpool where they are referred to as '110s' due to their 110 pound price point back in the day. This isn’t the first time Nike have given the UK city a dedicated release of the 1995 model either, as they released a sleek black iteration in that featured hits of their signature red. This came shortly after Nike signed a multi-year deal to be their official kit suppliers, and 2025 will not only mark their five-year anniversary together, but also the 30th birthday of the AM95.
