Li-Ning Live in the Moment
China’s have been making big moves on the fashion front with both high-tech-looking sneakers and retro-styled runners. Their latest Moment silhouette is an example of the latter, and it taps into some popular design tropes.
The knobbly rubber sole follows a studded tread pattern, set beneath a multicoloured foam sandwich and suede upper. The common deconstructed panelling makes an appearance here, displaying jagged edges and frayed ends. It’s easy to draw comparisons to similarly designed runners from the era, but Li-Ning’s distinct branding and visual language makes the Moment distinctly theirs.
