Update June 20, 2022: The ACS Pro Advanced is one of Salomon's most recently revived heaters and now it's officially going to get even hotter, as an official look at a collaboration with L'Art De L'Automobile has been revealed! The confirmation has arrived via a video which features the initial pair seen back in May, plus a pink, blue and violet pair! Check the teaser video out here and stay tuned for further release details.
Salomon's Sportstyle arm first brought back the ACS Pro Advanced at the tail end of 2021, and now the high-end trail runner turned lifestyle shoe is getting its first colab thanks to L'Art De L'Automobile. A rare car dealership (and occasional clothing brand) located in Paris, L'Art De L'Automobile is all about the beauty of all things automotive, so this reinterpretation of their fellow French brand's popular sneaker is inspired by something any driver is familiar with: traffic lights.
L'Art De L'Automobile has used traffic lights as inspiration for a footwear colab in the past, namely three iterations of Vans' famous Old Skool that dropped back in February. However, that colab spread green, yellow and red across three shoes instead of bringing them all together in one ultra-colourful design. If nuance is your thing, this probably isn't the ACS Pro Advanced for you – the 'Vanilla Ice' or 'Lunar Rock' colourways might be more your speed – but if you like a loud, vibrant design, the combo of all three colours atop the ACS Pro Advanced's technical upper is sure to strike your fancy.
From the single image that's been revealed, there doesn't appear to be any visible special branding on the L'Art De L'Automobile x Salomon ACS Pro Advanced. However, familiar details like a ClimaCool-inspired midfoot cage (Salomon was actually owned by adidas when the ACS Pro Advanced was first manufactured back in the early 2000s), the supportive Agile Chassis System, a speed lacing setup and the durable Contagrip outsole are all present and accounted for.
We're still awaiting word on a release date, but will be sure to let you, our beloved readers, know as soon as one is made available!
