Founded in Philadelphia with the values of artistry, innovation and craftsmanship, is a premium lifestyle brand that specialises in combining quality from the past with contemporary culture and fashion. Their name comes from the tools that were traditionally used by cobblers to make shoes, so it’s a no-brainer why sought them out for a collaborative project. The duo initially kicked off the series with the and earlier this year, and both pairs were hand-dyed in a chilly indigo blue shade. Now, they are keeping that same technique on the three new colours, but this time working on their favourite ASICS Sportstyle model: the .
Lapstone & Hammer haven’t just gone the aesthetic route though. The indigo on the first iterations was to highlight a universal colour that crosses everyone’s lives and wardrobes, and this second drop keeps the same universal theme, as they are all inspired by the different morning routines of people around the world: coffee, matcha, and ube. Every single pair available has been dyed by hand, meaning they are all a one-of-one: ‘Much like our custom Dip Dye process, the manner in which people prepare these drinks is unique and individualised, a way in which we put our own personal stamp on this communal act.’
The next drop of the Lapstone & Hammer x ASICS DIP DYE collection will include the three new colours, but they will also re-release the Indigo iteration. They will drop first at their Philadelphia store on May 18 at 10am EST, and the remaining pairs will then release online at 12pm EST. They come in both men’s and women’s sizing.
