Once upon a time, the European Christmas folklore character Krampus inspired a In 2012, Sean Cliver designed the ‘Krampus’ Dunk High which was released around Christmas. It nodded to Santa Claus’ counterpart who is said to punish naughty children. A reputable SB collector, @sbheadsbe, just leaked a new Dunk that revisits the past and draws from this mythical creature once again. The Nike ‘Krampus’ dons the eerie elements of Krampus’ presence.

The ‘Krampus’ SB Dunk High used a black/red colour scheme and used furry materials to represent the goat-like Christmas monster. The new SB Dunk Low ‘Krampus’ takes a different approach. While it stays true to the black and red theme it features a cracked leather upper to drive home the spooky nature of the beast. The tongue is designed to look like a woven basket, and while it adds textural depth to this sneaker, it is a reminder that you don’t want to end up in Krampus’ basket. On the inside of the tongue is a patch that reads ‘Not Surprised’. Complete with chaotic black and red insoles that bear an insignia of Krampus with speckled midsoles, the 2025 ‘Krampus’ Dunk version encapsulates the folklore figure.
