Kith Women Concoct a Taekwondo Espresso

There are piles of sneakers inspired by potable refreshments – and have all had their time in the sun. But for this latest reimagining of adidas Originals' Taekwondo silhouette, Brooklyn brand Kith have managed to capture the cosy decadence of beautifully brewed coffee in a two-pack of unisex models that will have you reaching for the biscotti.

The Taekwondo silhouette has earned itself 'preferred low-pro' status for a number of recent adi collaborators, including and its origins as a martial arts shoe make it a lightweight and flexible option for all-day wear with enough blank canvas to allow said guest designers to twist it in whichever direction they're feeling.

For their second take on the Taekwondo, Kith Women have embraced the fork in the proverbial road by taking one edition of the sneaker down the durability path – the 'Natural Canvas/Coffee Quartz', which pairs a creamy upper with rich brown leather Three Stripes – and the other down Luxe Lane – the 'Shale/Corsage', built in premium suede with nubuck overlays. Both pairs sport alternating Kith and adidas branding on the left and right shoes, with a distinctive latticed layer up the vamp.

Kith Women were under no illusions about this two-pack's probable popularity; a raffle and early access for VIPs unfolded over the course of this week, but now it's time for the global release.

The Kith Women x adidas Originals Taekwondo is available September 5 via Kith's online channels and the Kith app, and despite the shoe's title, it runs in men's sizing.
