Karhu's Laulujoutsen Pack Takes Flight
The whooper swan (pronounced 'hooper) is a majestic bird so beloved in Finland that it wound up on the Nordic nation's one euro coin. Perhaps more importantly though, from a footwear perspective at least, the Finns' feathered friend served as inspiration behind one of Karhu's most revered Trainers back in 1985.
Paying homage to this classic sneaker and its influence, Karhu have produced a trio of sneakers dubbed the 'Laulujoutsen' pack (Finnish for 'whooper swan'). The Aria, Fusion 2.0 and Albatross all follow the Trainer's lead dressed in plush pigskin suede with hits of yellow inspired by the swan's beak. White sole units mimic the whooper swan's pristine plumage.
The Karhu 'Laulujoutsen' pack releases May 4 through Karhu's Helsinki concept store, Karhu's online store and select retailers globally.
