The connection between the sneakersphere and motorsport is drawing ever closer, and now are the latest to get in on the action with the announcement of their newest collaboration. Drawing on their French heritage ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this upcoming weekend, Salomon has teamed up with fashion’s favourite car dealer Arthur Kar to give the and race-ready liveries.

For this collaboration, Arthur Kar has taken inspiration from the legendary endurance race and time spent growing up in his parent’s repair shop. The resulting two silhouettes pay tribute to 90s sports car liveries and draw their colours from the French flag. The Speedcross 3 arrives with a gradient upper, transitioning from red to purple to navy from toe to heel, while its overlays arrive in a mix of blue, white and gold to mimic the mish-mash of logos that would decorate vintage racing cars. The XT-4 follows suit with a flipped colour scheme – this time a white base boasts a blue tribal-style swirl across the sidewalls, while a carbon-fibre-effect cage comes in red with gold branding. Both pairs pay homage to the Porsche 911 GT1 mobil1, which took the overall victory in the 1998 version of the race (this was also the final time the GT1 would compete), and Porsche’s 16th Le Mans win.

Both pairs from the KAR x Salomon L’Art De L’Automobile collection are available now on the collaborator’s site, with a wider release planned on Salomon’s channels on June 18. If you’re visiting for , you can also check out both pairs at the Salomon Sportstyle store, which has recently opened in The Marais.
