KangaROOS craft their sneakers by hand in Germany, providing an attention to detail and focus on quality that lets them experiment with a cornucopia of luxurious materials. Recently, the brand dropped a denim-dunked take on the Ultralite II and tapped Kish Kash and Sneaker Queen for a suede and perforated leather-equipped take on the Ultimate – and now they're dropping a corduroy-coated take on the Racer Hybrid, a retro running shoe.

Part of KangaROOS 'Roostraditions' initiative, this luxurious retro runner mixes wide wale corduroy with supple suede on its upper, and boasts a 'Dark Navy/Dusty Rose' colour scheme that wouldn't look out of place on a smoking jacket. The corduroy used is provided by Brisbane Moss, a Lancashire, England-based company that has been producing artisanal textiles since the mid 19th century.

The shoe also features a custom ROOStraditions tongue label and uses Dynacoil technology – a cushioning setup that was designed in partnership with NASA and introduced in the mid 1908s – in its midsole for elevated comfort that aligns with its build.

Interested parties can expect the KangaROOS Racer Hybrid 'Corduory' from the 'Roostraditions' line to release at retailers like AsphaltGold come November 20. It's priced at $250, and buying a half size smaller is recommended as the Racer Hybrid tends to run on the large side of the fit spectrum!
