KangaROOS Dedicate the Ultimate MiG ‘Triple Zero’ to Firefighting HeroesRelease: 9 October 2020
KangaROOS may be stalwarts of the European sneaker scene, but the horrific environmental disasters occurring across the globe this year have spurred them to lend a hand in their own unique way. They’ve reworked the Ultimate Made in Germany (MiG) ‘Triple Zero’ with thematic and direct inspiration from the heroic emergency crews that have assisted people in danger.
Firefighting is the most prominent theme on the Ultimate MiG ‘Triple Zero’. Its uppers repurpose fabric from used B-75 fire hoses that may have once faced treacherous conditions, paired with premium calf suede and mesh panelling that alternates between vivid orange and neutral beige. The orange is matched on the inside, which uses upcycled firefighting jackets. Underfoot, KangaROOS’ patented DYNACOIL midsole system offers maximum support, much in the same spirit that the people they’re paying tribute to continue to provide.
The ‘Triple Zero’ title refers to Australia’s emergency number 000 – digits that were unfortunately dialled frequently during the harrowing bushfire events of late 2019 and early 2020. By directly addressing the other ecological disasters that the world is facing, including the land-clearing burns in the Amazon basin, KangaROOS hope to inform and enlighten the sneaker world of the larger emergency looming.
Following the release, KangaROOS will put their money where their mouth is, with a portion of the proceeds from the ‘Triple Zero’ going directly towards The Kangaroo Sanctuary, a rescue organisation based in the Northern Territory and central regions of Australia.
The KangaROOS Ultimate MiG ‘Triple Zero’ releases on October 9, and will be limited to 517 pairs. Here’s where you can buy them:
