Junya Watanabe and New Balance Introduce the Hybrid Tech Form 100

From reworked heritage silhouettes like the to fusing formalwear influences into sport-lifestyle staples, the duo's minimalist collaborations consistently push the brand’s design language into unexpected territory. That relationship takes a new turn for the new season with the debut of the Tech Form 100.

Unveiled during Watanabe’s SS26 runway presentation at Paris Fashion Week, the TF100 is a futuristic take on a walking silhouette, and brings together classic cues with modern tech. The upper is refined and minimal, drawing from dress shoe construction, while the dual-layered midsole introduces a sculpted arch cutout that hints at performance roots. The result is a sport-formal hybrid that feels at home in both high-fashion and everyday settings.

Despite being a new silhouette, the TF100 stays true to the Boston brand’s design ethos: clean, versatile and purpose-driven. Reflective eyelets nod to running heritage, while a racing flat-style outsole and heel TPU badge inject subtle technicality.

Of course, the TL100 and 990 are just a few standout silhouettes from the Japanese label’s ongoing work with New Balance. Since first linking up in 2021, the duo have delivered a range of sought-after styles: including the recently released 471.
