Jordan Jumpman Team 2 Retro
The ever-present Jordan Brand has been dominating sneaker culture for many years now, but without Nike's foresight to build Michael Jordan's signature line into a complete new division under the brand's umbrella it probably would not be the behemoth that's still relevant to performance basketball now. With a talented number of NBA basketballers under the Team Jordan banner such as the budding rookie Ray Allen during the mid-'90s, Jordan Brand set out to create new product lines outside of MJ's signature Air Jordan series, and the Jordan Team 1 and Jordan Team 2 established the brand as something bigger than what was on Jordan's feet in the late '90s thanks to their presence on-court in the NCAA level. With a clear AJXIII influence, the Jordan Team 2 dropped in 1998 and its success paved the way for the successive Team Jordan shoes that would follow. While Team Jordan models might cop some flak due to its supporting role in the Air Jordan legacy, the Jordan Team 2 stands on its own and will always be essential to the Nike/Jordan Brand story. To celebrate, Jordan Brand is retroing the sneaker for the first time, and while we don't have any solid release details, we can share GC911's early images of the retro. More details to follow, stay tuned!
