Jordan Brand's Frank Cooker Teases Premium Deconstructed Air Jordan 3
We're only two months in and already 2018 is shaping up to be the year of the 3. On top of retros like the 'Black Cement,' Jordan Brand have also shown a willingness to tinker with Swoosh lord Tinker Hatfield's immortal design, and it looks like a deconstructed take is next on the cards.
Via Instagram, Jordan Brand's Frank Cooker shared a pair of Air Jordan 3s made from premium black leather. The shoe looks noticeably slimmer – some might say suave – with the baller's traditionally chunky padding whittled down. Similarly, nearly all of the model's TPU components as well as its signature Elephant print have been stripped.
Cooker didn't clarify whether the pair were set for release or were simply a sample, but the image's caption suggests they're part of a new direction for the brand.
'When legendary staples are rich in authenticity, there is no need for influential input... but we can never dismiss the obligation to take the former narratives into a new space.'
